We care about the training, but we care just as much about how it feels to be here. Expect considered programming, trainers who know their stuff, beautiful spaces, good music and a community that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Great Pilates is a given - you won’t get the ESSE experience anywhere else.
-
Right here. You don’t need to be flexible, coordinated or know what a spring does. Our classes are designed to meet you where you’re at. Let your trainer know it’s your first time and we’ll take it from there.
-
Neither – they’re better together, which is exactly why we offer both. Reformer builds strength through spring resistance, control and precision, while Hot Mat brings heat, flow and a completely different challenge. Together, they complement each other to keep your training varied, your body challenged and your routine feeling fresh. We designed ESSE around because the strongest routine isn’t about choosing one - it’s about finding a way of moving you genuinely want to keep coming back to.
-
Keep it simple – water, a towel for Hot Mat and grip socks for Reformer. Grip socks are mandatory, but if yours don’t make it out the door with you, we’ve got some available to purchase at reception. Everything else? We’ve got you covered.

Our doors are locked 2 minutes after class starts, and once they’re locked, unfortunately we can’t let you in. Our trainers can’t leave once class is underway, and for new clients especially, missing the introduction can also become a safety issue. It’s all about protecting both the client and trainer experience. Don’t take it personally - arrive early, get settled and have a yap with us beforehand.
-
Absolutely. You’ll be surrounded by different bodies, abilities and experience levels. Our trainers will give you options throughout class so you can work at the level that’s right for you.
-
Life happens – we get it. Just make sure you cancel at least 5 hours before your class starts to give someone else the chance to grab your spot. Cancellations within the 5-hour window incur a $10 late cancellation fee, while missed classes incur a $15 no-show fee.
-
Absolutely, depending on the injury. Have a chat with your trainer before class so we know what’s going on and can offer modifications where appropriate. If you’re managing an injury or returning to exercise, we always recommend getting clearance from your healthcare professional first. Keep us in the loop so we can help you move safely and confidently.

That’s exactly what our trainers are here for. ESSE is known for the expertise of our trainers and the community we’ve built around them – you’re never left to figure it out alone. We’ll guide you through the movements, offer options when you need them and help you build confidence as you go. Everyone starts somewhere – we’ll be right there while you do.
