ESSE was never created to follow the precedent.

Before the studios, education and everything ESSE is today, there was friendship and a shared belief that Pilates could be done differently.

Before the studios, education and everything ESSE is today, there was friendship and a shared belief that Pilates could be done differently.

Founded by Taylor and Shari in 2022, ESSE began with a vision to bring a fresh, progressive take to the industry; one that felt considered, current and connected to the way people actually want to move.

Taylor brings a deep background in Pilates, a passion for movement and a strong creative vision to ESSE. With over 7 years in the pilates industry, her experience gave her a clear sense of what was missing and an appetite to challenge the expected. Her approach to movement, paired with her eye for brand, space and experience, has shaped the distinct identity of ESSE from day one.

Shari brings a background in business, with a natural focus on growth and strategy. From the beginning, she saw the potential for ESSE to become more than a studio – bringing the structure, commercial thinking and ambition needed to turn a shared idea into a growing brand.

Together, they set out to rethink what a Pilates brand could look and feel like.
